Two weekends ago the Fine Arts Society played “The Marriage of Figaro”. I walked around all weekend with the music stuck in my head. Why, you may ask? Well, mostly because I am a big dork, but also because I watched quality cartoons in my childhood, and I relate most classical music to cartoons. For those unfamiliar with probably the most recognizable music from the opera, here’s a taste, Tom and Jerry style:
So I’m sure you can just imagine me walking around the house singing this for days on end. Annoying, right? Here’s the funny part: any time I now say ‘Figaro’, Izzy, my mutt, runs to the patio door and looks outside, as if she’s looking for a critter. She’s knows the words ‘bunny’ and ‘squirrel’, so I guess she thinks ‘Figaro’ must also be some kind of rodent. (Izzy also gets excited when we say bank, pet store, car, go, password, and forum. I can’t explain the last two-she’s just weird!)
Here’s a little video demonstrating. Notice how she ignores everything I say up to the word Figaro!
