Policies & Procedures

Interview Process
The interview process will last from 30 to 60 minutes. It is a chance for the humans to meet, and also an opportunity for the pets to become familiar with the sitter. A service contract will be filled out at that time. Please be prepared with emergency contact names and numbers, as well as two house keys. If a separate trip is necessary for key pick up, a $10 fee will be added to service total.

Reservations
Ideally reservations should be made 2 weeks in advance. Please understand we will do our best to schedule your visits within the 2 week time frame, but availability may be limited to prior scheduling. If Lori is unavailable, you will have the option to choose an independent contractor to care for your pets.

Please do not text me to make reservations. I prefer an email or a voicemail. You may text, email, or phone me during your time away to check in on your pets and home. Upon your return, please contact me to let me know you have safely made it home.

Key Policy
It is my policy to ask for two house keys. One stays locked away in case the other should be lost. I will accept a garage door code to use for entry to the house, but I still require keys, in the event of a power outage or natural disaster.
I can keep your keys on file for future use. All you have to do to schedule service is call and make a reservation. If you prefer, I will also return your keys to you, after you have returned home. I don’t lock keys in homes, should your return be delayed for any reason.

“Office Hours”
Phone calls and emails will be returned within 24 hours, generally between 3pm – 6 pm. Messages received on the weekend will be returned on the following Monday. If you are having an emergency, please state this in your message or email.

Referrals
When you refer friends and they mention your name, you will receive one complimentary visit after their service. ($15 value)
